1. Overview

Signtifiq ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered document scanner application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and profile name. We do not access your Google contacts, files, or any other Google data.

Scan metadata

When you scan a document, we store the AI-generated summary, risk flags, key dates, key amounts, and document type classification in your account so you can review past scans. We do NOT store the original document image or the raw OCR text.

Usage data

We collect anonymized usage analytics (e.g., number of scans performed, app crashes) via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

3. How We Process Your Documents

Document scanning works as follows:

1. You take a photo or select an image from your gallery.
2. Text is extracted from the image entirely on your device using Google ML Kit OCR. The image never leaves your phone.
3. The extracted text (up to 10,000 characters) is sent over an encrypted connection to the Claude AI API (Anthropic) for analysis.
4. The AI analysis result is returned to your device and saved to your Signtifiq account in Firebase Firestore.

Anthropic (Claude API) processes the text according to their privacy policy. We use the API with data anonymization — no document text is linked to your identity when sent to the API.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account data and scan history are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which is encrypted at rest and in transit. Firebase security rules ensure that users can only access their own data.

We retain your scan history as long as your account is active. You can delete individual scans at any time within the app. Deleting your account removes all associated data.

5. In-App Purchases

Signtifiq offers a one-time "Pro" purchase through Google Play Billing. We do not process or store any payment information. All payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play. We only receive a confirmation of whether a purchase was completed.

6. Advertising

The free version of Signtifiq displays banner and interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may use advertising identifiers to show personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings. Pro users see no advertisements. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting
• Claude API (Anthropic) — AI document analysis
• Google ML Kit — on-device text recognition (OCR)
• Google AdMob — advertising (free tier only)
• Google Play Billing — in-app purchases

8. Children's Privacy

Signtifiq is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to have it removed.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Request a copy of your data
• Opt out of analytics by adjusting your device settings

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notifying you within the app. Continued use of Signtifiq after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
